Well you would have to search for that answer, I am very new to this forum, but for some reason i feel like scionlife.com has a bit more experienced/ older people. Though i think Lo bux racer and engifineer comes on this forum too, try searching on scionlife.com. I feel like that forum is much more simple and easier to find answers, but for a quick simple answer from me. Ill do it this way.
Short Ram:
Pros: Looks sexier.
-Probably cheaper
-Easier to install , yet they are both easy to install.
-Since the piping is short, you would usually gain better low end torque.
-No chance of hydrolock
Cons: Performance isn't as good on the top end.
-Sound probably isn't as sexy.
-Short Rams are prone to heat soak since the filter is right in the engine bay, which might rob some performance.
I personally have a weapon-r short ram, with their cold air box, and ram air. In a way i have both types in effect. Yet i personally still dont think any type of intake would give you much of a gain, I just got it as a present, and hey i wanted to do some modding anyway. Just get better at driving. if you want speed. Also i wrote this up in a snap, so be better if you search it up.
