BTW.... I generally state what the acronym is. Being in the Navy, whom has more acronyms than an unabridged dictionary, I realize firsthand the frustration of trying to figure out what things mean.

ANd no problems, though im not saying im safe.

Actually, BPV is the bypass valve on the discharge tube of a supercharger (some turbos). Similar to a BOV (blow of valve), it relieves the boost pressure when the TB (throttle body)

Actually, I am "experienced/older". At 39, this ain't my first rodeo. I have my ride since March 2005. This car was researched before I made the decision to buy. As stated earlier, I am in the Navy. Not only do I work on Naval Aircraft, but I have spent about a total of 4+ months near Tokyo. It was there in late 2003 that I saw my first bB (Japanese market xB). There was a poster at a dealership that had the tC on it. I asked my Japanese friend what this car was and could I see one. She talked to a salesman who stated that this car was to be a US market only release for the end of 2004. That's when I fell in love with the tC and new that it woul be my next car as soon as it hits the US shores. Unfortunately, Louisiana did not receive any till February 2005 and only by web order. I had to go back home to Texas to get the one that I wanted. One week after the TRD S/C was generally released I had one on order. I have good relations with several parts vendors. personally know Kenny Tran and Tony Cheung of Jotech Motorsports (the first to do a tC build) plus all of their contacts. In short, I feel that I am highly qualified to match anyone out there.
I am not going to put down SL (Scion Life). Your opinion is yours to make. They were the first forum (that I know of), have been indispensible in connecting the Scion community, and provide a knowledgebase service. Unfortunately, the site has become bloated, slow, and difficult to concisely find info. As such, the moderators are overwhelmed to the point that threads are strewn everywhere and posts have fallen into anarchy. People are posting incorrect, unsubstantiated information that is not corrected. The other downfall has been the bashing of newbies and the slander of the "dumb question".
Club-tC may not be the behemoth of SL with the large knowledgebase, but we are growing. You will not find regurgitated information. Everything is researched and thought out before posting. Erroneous information is corrected. I have 1600 posts on here as Senior Super-duper Moderator. One of my goals is to make sure your questions get answered asap.
Second, nobody is a "newbie" here. No one is an expert (including me) and no question is too "dumb"; everyone's input matters. Also, cussing and "beating down" other members is not tolerated. If someone does, I punish them with some corny joke! We like to keep it lively on here
