Okay...I drove on it all day long ( no element )....no CEL..and there was actually little to no lag...mind you the lag it actually barely noticeable before....(also known as throttle response...I think)

I drive a 5 spd.......I may be the only one who may have noticed the slight lag but now it is virtually gone...this occurs when you initially press the pedal to the floor ie...accelerating hard....now again I may have something as simple as bad gas, dirty air filter ( changed it 2 weeks ago actually ), or other issues ( highly unlikely), but possible...now with the issue of drilling holes and such then that is something that I wont do...allowing more air in by taking off the intake tube to the air box then that is doable....the question I have with that is....how does taking the intake tube off allow more air volume in? Won't it be the same even with the intake tube on? The opening is still the same with or with out...
