With a LSD and S/C you won't be losing to any Civic unless it has a motor swap, at which point, losing shouldn't matter.
Any H-22, B18 or B16b model in a early year light Civic is going to beat you. With the LSD and S/C you'll be competitive, remember the supporting mods will give you an advantage.
Beyond that, with an '08 tC, you'll have a brand new car (not an old one w/ a nice motor) and with all the modern features that makes it a comfortable and fun car to ride.
