Exclamation Axis Wheels

Warning: If you buy wheels from Axis Wheels, they only carry +35mm across all of their inventory, no matter what width. Unless your running rubber bands or going with a wide body kit, you will not be able to lower your tC with an 8.5" wide rim at all. You will not be able to run anything wider than the recommended tire width of 225/40 with an 8" wide rim.

The tC has a stock offset of +45mm on a 17x7 rim. For an 18x8 rim, +42mm works best. Run an 18x8.5 and you will fit snugly with a +40mm offset. Axis states that they run the +35mm offset to provide the widest stance. On the 8.5" rim, the +35mm offset just so happens to fit if you run a smaller than recommended 215/40 tire, you don't lower your tC, or if leave the rear with high negative camber (to clear the lip) when you do lower it. With an 18x8.5 wide rim, even the Axis recommended 225/40 is a size too small. What is the point of the added weight of a wider rim if you have to run a small tire? It further appears that these rims are sold for the tC as they just seem to fit is that the wheels require hub adapters.

Needless to say, I am having a fitment problem. Several calls to and 2 failed return calls later, Axis is pretty much telling me to bugger-off. I can either jack my car back up, run mucho negative camber (destroyed tires), cut out my fender lips, or run a smaller tire. None of these are options that I choose to follow. Problem for them is my vendor asked these 3 questions (at my request) to them: 1. Will these wheels fit the tC? 2. What size tire to run? 3. Are there any fitment issues running this setup on a lowered tC up to 2" drop.
