First post here, so I'll be nice about this: Springs bounce. That's what they are made to do. So, bouncing isn't a result of "poor springs," it's just what they do. A car that bounces too much is a result of inadeguate dampening (shocks/struts). If you put stiff springs on your car and don't upgrade the shocks, you will bounce. It's that simple. A spring like the Tein H.Tech will not bounce on stock dampers because they are only a bit (approx 20%) stiffer than the stock springs. Butm the Tein S.Techs--which are an extremely good spring--will create a bouncey ride, unless sportier dampers are also installed.
As for the OP's question of springs or COs: What's your budget? What is your goal? No one answer is right for all drivers. COs are a great all inclusive solution because (if you buy a good set) they pair springs with correct dampers
and they let you adjust the ride height--which is a by-product of performance tuning, they were not made to slam a car becasue it looks cool. The downside of COs is they are expensive. A good set up like Tein will run you $800-1500.
Springs are cheaper, $125-200 depending on brand. But, like I mentioned in my first paragraph, springs may require better dampers be installed and that can cost another $300-600.
