Replacing clutches is rather easy. It is the k-member (sub-frame) on FWD cars that is a pain. It usually requires lowering a bit to drop the transaxle, although, some well design cars only require removing the transaxle motormount. You will also have to disconnect the CV axles. This could be somple as just giving the axles a 'good pull' or as difficult as removing a c-clip at the differential. Also, you may or may not require the use of a lift, though it is always easier with it.
As far as the tC goes, I am not sure of of the difficulties. Currently, Project tC is in the lab (GF's driveway) for Stage 3 mods. I plan on tackling the transmission once I am back from Asia mid July. Right now, everything is on hold because of a stripped button-head bolt preventing me from removing my TRD.
