I mounted the optional OEM headunit ( iPod capable ) in my '06. The original radio was the standard ( non-iPod capable. ) I need the cable that goes from the back of the headunit to the center console. No, there's no iPod plug in the console, that's another one of the things I'm looking for. Is the "iPod" cable hidden behind the radio somewhere? It would make sense to have just one wiring harness for both radios. Therefore the plug "should", hopefully, be back there somewhere. Please help.
Edit: OK, I've been looking around at the wiring behind the radio. The plug for the upgraded radio IS THERE. The other end goes to a connector under the shifter. So. . . all I need to get is the iPod socket that goes in the center console. It looks like it just plugs into the rectangular hole that's alread there. ONE CABLE/SOCKET. The part number is PT546-21061
I THINK, when you order the upgraded radio, it's put in at the dealer, it doesn't come from Japan that way. So swap radios, install the iPod socket in the console connect everything and you're good to go. The part number is PT546-21061
ANOTHER WAY TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM.
There's a cable listed on eBay that will DIRECTLY connect the '06 and '07 upgraded radio to your iPod so you can control the iPod from the headunit.
Here's the cable I've been looking for. . . now that I've got the problem solved another way.
