Default I Just Witnessed An Accident

Actually I saw the aftermath about 10 minutes after it happened. It just happened this previous Friday appx 1 mile from my own house. Two Camaros were STREET RACING down a very busy street at 4:30 during the day, right around rush hour no less. Police estimated their appx. speed at 90 mph. A Honda Accord was making a left turn and one of the Camaro's t-boned it, splitting it in half. When I passed by the accident the front half of the honda was at least 30 ft away from the rear half. The driver of the Honda was already on the ground covered w/ a blanket, pronounced dead at the scene. Driver of the Camaro was in critical conditon, last I heard. The other Camaro tried to take of but was followed by a witness and caught later on.

What really sucks to hear is the driver of the Honda Accord was just a kid. He was only a block away from reaching his grandmother's house whom he was going to visit.

I hope now you guys understand why I don't allow any street racing posts. I can't condone or accept this kind of behavior. I know that doing this is relatively minimal and those who wish to do so will continue, but I hope it will make others think before they participate. Stay safe out there guys.

I don't like racing on the streets as much but when others challenge you.

It's hard not to beat his @ss

I was in an accident April 23 of 2005 and my vehichle flips like a dozen times

that scared me for a while but now I'm all back into street racing again

I like track racing too but it's not as challenging as the street

is there a pill I can take to cool off from racing? I really want to quit.

Well I don't really like to tell people what they can and can't do, it's your life and you make your own decisions. Just be prepared to accept the consequences. I am not perfect myself, I do the occasional 85 on the freeway if I'm late for work. After working in the insurance industry for a while though, I really have curbed the things that could get me a ticket.

FYI, an "Exhibition Of Speed" conviction is an 8-point conviction in California and most other states. That's an automatic suspension and requires an SR22 to get it re-instated. The conviction also stays on your record for 7 years as opposed to 3 years for normal convictions. Translate that into money for ticket fees, court fees, and insurance equals a whole lot of money for 7 years. (Also DUI's are 12 points in California.)
