Very angry

I need to vent. So here goes. I went out to get something to eat earlier. So, I go fill up with gas, got my food and started heading back home. There's a long stretch of road on the way home and I was following 3 cars with 2 cars in the right lane. Next thing I know BAM! I saw something heading for the car but by the time I saw it, I had no time to react. SO, I pull over into a church paking lot not far from there to inspect the damage. Come to find out, I have a big ass chunk taken out of my front bumper and the plastic fenderwell is missing. I head down the other side of the road and make a U-turn to see what in the hell it was to hit. I pull over and start searching the road. I find my fenderwell sitting all by it's lonesome on the shoulder. Once I did some more walking around, I found the culprit. Now I hate electricians. I see an electrician's snake laying on the other side of the road. It must have rolled out of somebody's truck. So now, I need a new bumper. I'm not going to go through insurance. I don't want my rates going up. Any suggestions?

Wow, that really sucks.

I know that I always check out ebay for wrecks that are being parted out for cheap parts. I usually have decent luck there.

Any pics of the damage?

I already checked eBay. The have a BSP bumper, but it's all scrathed up. I don't want a scrathed up bumper on my non-scrathed up car.

As far as pics, I will take them later. I have no way to upload them here at work.

Ok. Update. I needed to get this done ASAP. There is alot of salt on the roads and I don't want to leave my inner-fender exposed to the elements and risk corrosion. Therefore, I have chosen MAACO. I paid for the parts tonight. $400 for parts. With the labor (if I have them install it) the total will be $649. I think I will go that route. I ordered a new bumper, new engine splash guard, new inner fenderwell, and new splash guard to attach to the fenderwell. Hopefully, they will get the parts quickly and I can get the car finished either Friday or Monday. Thanks for the input. I needed some support lol. I'll take some pics tomorrow of the damage and will post pics of the new bumper once it is installed.

Very true. Hopefull my baby will back to normal on Monday. I haven't been posting much because I've just been too wrapped up in this whole situation. Once it is repaired and I am happy again, my posting will return to normal. If you guys want to keep me around.

hey, look at duraflex bumpers... cause that will be helpfull, cause they BEND! and if you hit something it wont break as easy as a fiber glass bumper or anything like that...
and dude, i would be so pissed if that happend to me.... ill join forces on killing the electritions, especially since they make like... $40 an hour!

Too late. Bumper is already there and painted. I will be setting up an appointment to get it put on for Monday.

Man, that was a heinous blow. I was once an Electrical Apprentice, shocking as it is. Atleast your damage was superficial. The bright side is that you finally get that engine splash guard replaced!
