Default HID Headlights

I'm a newbie here and I'm new to tricking out my tC as well. I just got a tint and want to get new HID lights now (currently have stock). I've read through the threads about HID headlights in the forums, but since I know practically nothing about it could someone walk me through getting new HIDs like I'm retarded? I don't really want to spend more than $300 but I want something that will last and looks nice. Btw, I've got an '06. Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm looking into a set of 6000K HID's, what is the glare situation like, is it really bad or is it tolerable and can it be fixed.

Go w/ Sylvania Silverstar II's. Cheaper than HID, give a super bright white light, and don't blind oncoming drivers like a HID will. You can switch to projectors and then go HID .

If its going into reflector housing (like ours) its VERY BAD. Im sorry i love to be able to have nice bright light infront of me, but im not gonna put something on there to say fcuk everyone else. If you are dead set on doing HID's atleast get the aftermarket headlamps with the projector like look going on. Other than that, get ahold of some real things and do a retrofit.

Thanks for the advice. Do I need to buy new wiring for the Silverstars as well?

I've been checking out what others have and I really like the angel eyes. Can I just buy a kit that includes everything I need for them (including new wiring) for around $300?

I've decided to get the Silverstar Ultra 9006s due to the lower cost. I'm going to get the upgraded wiring harness too but I don't know where to get a quality set. Any suggestions?

You don't need to waste your money on the upgraded harness. The Silverstars are designed as an OEM replacement. Most quality HID kits come with all the necessary wiring to plug and play into your tC.

I went ahead and installed the new Silverstar Ultras and I can definitely see a big difference already. I took before and after pics, but they didn't turn out well b/c I didn't take them with the car facing a wall. You can slightly tell the color difference but not much else in them.

If these really do burn out in 6 months then I'll prob upgrade to HIDs when they do. Thanks for the help guys, especially navylife59.

I couldn't find Silverstar II's so I got some Ultras instead. They are a lot brighter but I think I'll eventually get a HID conversion kit.

Darn Toyota!!!! They got stupid and put H11's on the 2007 Camry and Tundra's. What were they thinking? No one local carries that bulb, except for stock.
