Default LED Modified Center Tachometer and Gauge Face Conversion

You can check out more from Sean's busniess at LEDmod.com He has some pre-made designs as well as some other good things so head over and check it out. Anyway onto what the topic is about

Here they are installed in my car. The night shots the needles look orange in the first photo, but they do light red. Along with the Center conversion and gauge faces, Sean also did my LED work, turned my needles Red when off, and painted the needle caps black to match the faces. His work looks great.

    Nightime

yes i know my apartment complex is well lit. If you would like any more photos please feel free to ask.

This modification looks absolutly amazing. Sean does excellent work. He is able to do gauges that he allready made for customers (avalible on his website listed above) or you can email him at Sean@ledmod.com about having custom gaugefaces done for your tC in any style you can fathom. Even if you want to keep the speedo centered and have different gauge faces he can do that as well. He also can do the LED swaps.

The conversion is accurate for the speedo and tach. Its a unique modification that is just spectacular. The pics do not match seeing it for yourself.

OK, I would have to say that this is the most amazing MOD out there. I give it 5 spark plugs up!!!

Yea Seans quality of work is incredible

He got my cluster on Sunday. He was finished by monday, and had it on the way back to me on tuesday. I got it on friday due to the 4th of july holiday.

If you want to do the wiring yourself, you can save urself some down time and do the install yourself. But I dont like messing with needles or soldering on a circuit board i have 0 room to screw up on. Plus I had Sean change my needles to red and paint my needle covers to black so they match (sorry black gauges with bright silver needle covers.... tacky)

Its a worthwhile modification for me, because i care more about Revs than i do about speed. Plus it just looks so much better than stock.

That is true for me as the stock place is too hidden to be useful. I also don't want a freak'n tach sittn' on my dash either. I have a-pillar airbags so that location is out of the question.

Hit Sean up, see what you and him can come up with. I know he did a design for another tC here in hawaii that matched guys Autometer Gauges exactly.

    I have a few questions:
    * What is the warranty?
    * Is this a circuit board retrace, harness repin or both?
    * How accurate is the calibration afterwards?
    * What is the average lead time?

Warranty- I can only say if Sean does the work (or Squall) if something goes wrong, you can send it back to them and they will fix it no charge to you.

As for the board itself, Sean made a thread on ScionLife for people wanting to DIY. Heres the link. Should answer the question better than words here canScionLife View topic - * tC : Center Tach Conversion Guide

Accuracy- its spot on. Now getting the needle right, if you DIY, thats on you.

If by lead time you mean down time. I sent my gauges to Sean on a friday, they got to him on Sunday. He was done with both the conversion and my LED swap by monday and had it in the mail to me tuesday. Bout a day for the work, mostly just shipping from Hawaii to Vegas and back.

BTW Style 6 on that link (at the bottom) is the other guy here on Oahu with this mod that Sean did a custom face for. He beat me to it cuz he did the wiring himself, while my car was at the dealership for a squeak.

^^ he basically got it all.

because of how the car is wired, it isn't possible to do any rewiring of the harness...

all of it is done by swapping the signals of the motors on the board itself.. and it's done the only way possible using the method that he linked to.

motors are motors... accuracy is really only from the needle being placed on properly.. and as far as the gauge faces that Sean (dooly) makes.. they are high quality.
    LEDs.... yay!
