Well i have two projects with paint i want to do, and they are both with scion colors that i'd like. I'd like spray paint for these but actual paint might be ok too. First, i am looking to paint my interior pieces. i bought the parts i want painted from a part out so that i can do it without messing up the current pieces and not have them off my car for some time. So what is the best way to paint them? How can i get the paint? I called the dealership and the person gave me a number to a paint shop and they told me they don't have spray cans but they do pints and i'd have to dilute it or something and a few other things then spray it on. Is there a way to not have to dilute it and paint it on myself onto the pieces? Only reason i'd rather not have a spray paint can is for my next project. I have some outdoor paint clear coat at home, will that work for clear coating or would i need something specific? I want to do black cherry to match my car. (from what i've heard you have to sand twice, put on primer, sand, paint, wet sand, paint, clear coat. Is there an easier way than that?) The next project i wanted to paint my hockey mask, and haven't had time to do it. I wanted to paint the background the scion black pearl, and use some black cherry for the tongue of what i'm painting, that's why i'd rather actual paint for the black cherry so i don't have to tape off for the spray paint. the black is fine in a spray paint form, since i'm just going to paint the other parts over it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

Well the dealership doesn't have the paint, Just touch up stuff.
How much would the airbrush kit cost? Are there ways to get it in a spray can, to save buying the airbrush kit? Also do i have to do the primer, sand, paint, sand, paint, clearcoat? or can i just do the sand paint clearcoat? |

Autozone carries Duplicolor products. They have all that you need to get it done right, cleaner prep, adhesive promoter, and clear coat. I usually use the clear laquer. If you are not going with the OEM paint, then paint/automotive supply houses carry SEM products that are formulated to work specifically with vinyl and plastics. This stuff actually melts the pigment into the outer layer of the plastic/vinyl making it extremely resilient.
Find a Scion Dealership with their own paint/body shop. They should be able to order you the paint.
