I know what you're talking about.. I usually see it after I go through a car wash and there's a significant temperature difference between the water and the outside... makes the window have these hologram-like dots.
I don't know what it is but athe newer cars I've seen/been in have them. I doubt they'll be a problem in the future...

Well i agree what you said about the car wash. I had just washed it and cleaned the windows. Then i noticed the blue dots everywhere. I wonder what it is? I'll post a pick here in a little while.

it probably has something to do with the type of glass used on cars. ya know that tempered stuff that wont shatter.
i know i did a good job cleaning when i see those "dots"
Well i don't know if you can say "good job", but i havn't washed the car since it was repaired (about 1 to 2 weeks) and i can still see those blue dots on the sunroof. I also noticed a few on the driver side window. Thats what i've seen so far. ( i repaired the right quarter panel, HIT & RUN *******)![]()
Total repair from insurance totaled up to $3000.60. But i found a local and paid only $650![]()

Not only is the glass in the tC tempered, but also UV protection coating. I have seen the same hologram effect (more pronounced with polarized sunglasses), but no blue dots. Being that I like blue so much, I might be willing to trade glass with ya![]()

I just bought an 09 tc yesterday and noticed the same thing. I showed them the marks and they said they will probably be replacing all the glass (windshield to rear glass) or giving me a new car ha. Maybe i can get some trd parts out of it instead since it really isn't noticable or a big deal. But i could understand the reasoning about the temp of the glass and water because i live in vegas and the car sitting in the lot had to be 150+ and then they washed it.
man.... 150+ heat and than a sudden cool down..... geeze whats worst!!!

i know alot of dots on glass is from "acid rain" or some kind of chemical rain that etches slightly into the glass, other than replacement its stuck there.
