Default First real post! Want some ideas for mods please =)

Ok so I have a 2008 Waveline Pearl. It's my first nice car ever and I love it.

...Even though it's in the shop now getting body work for the SECOND TIME cuz Ive been hit TWICE since august. I should prob paint a bullseye on it at this point.

BUTTTT idk what I want to do with it yet exactly. I definitely want to tint the windows, I'm undecided though. I either want 35% (legal in NY) or a charcoal. Ideas? Opinions?

and I was just reading through the forums and saw you can change the dash lights? This is exciting news. I would love to do purple but idk if that's possible haha. Any other ideas?

I would just go with the 35% tint.

I agree with Redneck. Go with the 35% tint.

Are your modding asperations more "cosmetic" or "performance"?

well for right now, they're strictly cosmetic. I would like to do some intake or exhaust mods in the near future and maybe more power mods later.

Unfortunatelyyyyyyy it's automatic so I think too many mods would officially make me a ricer tool. haha. =)

Awwww. I know how you feel! I have a Waveline Pearl too!! Annnnd my car has been hit and scratched and messed up so many times, it sucks! 2 weeks after I got my car, someone sideswiped me at work and left this big dent on my rear quarter panel right on the crease of the rear wheel well.

Squall, is it hard to do this? And does it void any electrical warranties or any warranties in general?

I doubt it would void any warranties since it is just changing the LEDs. But then again, it seems lesser things mess with warranties on cars.

I vaguely remember a post by squall involving soldering and other stuff so that's what confused me.

Yeah, from the guide I read, it does require soldering. But for them to void any warranty work, they would have to pin the problem on the soldering work. So if your header fails, they wouldn't be able to blame it on the gauges, so they couldn't void the warranty in that case.

but they could void almost any electrical part of the warranty, since you would be messing with the electrical parts of the car. Dealerships are @$$'s

Get a dark tint in the back windows, but to avoid problems with the police, don't tint the front windshield or get dark tints in the front, thats how i have been set up for the last year with out any problems from the police. I live in NYC

Why would you tint your front windshield?! I just think that is so stupid and not safe. I think I actually saw one person on an Escalade in Atlanta who had that and it honestly confused the crap out of me.

I've seen tCs (pictures) with tinted windshields, and I think it does look sweet. But I would never do it... ticket central here in Virginia lol. Plus, very unsafe.

Also, it's very possible to do purple LEDs in the dash board. Talk to SqualLHeart here on the boards. He does this sort of mod for a fee. I've seen pictures of his work, and it looks fantastic. ^_^
