Carbon fiber overlays

    Default Carbon fiber overlays

    Has any one out there actually put these on themselves the instuctions say to clean with 3M solvent 7 (what the hell is it and where do i get it) then to mist with water and then slap those bad bays on does that sound right??? some one please help thanks

    don't worry about specifics
    just get the area clean and then slap it on...

    make sure to align it properly and straight before you slap it on completely.. the mist of water will allow some freedom of movement and when needed (if you mess up) the ability to yank the overlay off before you really screw up..

    cause once it's on there.... it's on there.

    The heat gun keeps the adhesive 'wet' so you can stick the overlays on a lot easier. If you were to try to put them on while it's cold outside, they'll fall off, because they aren't as free to bond to the metal. Your sister's hairdryer works just as well!! Make sure to put the heat on the hairdryer on 'HIGH' so it'll go a little faster, and heat up faster...

    Sorry not a fan of the random piece of carbon overlay on the center console. Just looks "out of place". Personal oppinion.

    I'd agree... You don't notice them very well when you have someone who has them drive next to you, or park next to you.
