The 1st generation tC head lights and tail lights are interchangeable, the only difference is going to be the wiring harnesses. To remove the tail lights and swap them out should take you no more than a half hour. You may have to completely remove your rear bumper in order to get the tail lights out. There will be some hex nuts in behind the tail light covers that will need to come off and un-clipping the wiring harness.

On my 2006 Scion tC I swapped out my OEM tail lights for TYC LED tail lights, and the install took me less than 15mins.

I believe the plugs are slightly different.

If the plugs are different, what's the solution? Are we splicing the the plug off the 08?

I want to say you'll need to buy a newer wiring harness. If I am wrong someone please correct me.

Different bulbs so different connectors. Gen1 9006low/9005high Gen2 H11low/9005high. You can order adapter harness to go from 9006 to H11. Companies like this one Innovative Wiring - Headlight Parts offer the connectors to make your own. You will need a 9006 male to plug into the Gen1 harness and a H11 female plug that goes into the H11 bulb of the Gen2 headlamp.

That would be a nice mod. Are you planning on painting the OEM or going for an aftermarket wheel? You might be interested in reading this Tech Article, http://www.club-tc.com/forums/suspen...tire-info.html Lot of good reading in our Tech Article section and in forum topic discussion stickies.
