Go straight to the Battery. OEM wiring and fuse panels are not designed to handle the heavy load of an amplifier (real). This holds true for any vehicle.

2 spots to go thru with. One is above the brake/clutch pedals and the other is behind the ECM behind the glove box.
A word of caution here. Running a cable with high current next to your ECM may cause EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference) and plague you with problems. Toyota, as with most manufaturers, engineer adequate amounts of RF shielding into their electronic engine control systems. Just about everything is shielded. What the engineers may not have accounted for was a noisy, high-amp signal running next to the main component of the entire car.
When two wires are running parallel to each other, current from one wire can induct onto the second wire. This is how a transformer works; primary/secondary windings. The more current flowing, the more capable of the inductance. This means 30-100A running next to your ECM could overcome the RF shielding can cause glitches. Just keep it more than 12-18 inches away to be safe.

Wow Navy you must have been gone a long time. Pics would be helpful. I plan on puttin in a small sub to give the system a little more oomph.
Hey did anyone put there amp in the spare tire location. And if so did it still fit with all of it in there (tire and all that is)? I was thinking about putting it in there and that is why i ask. Also if you did place it in there is your amp overheating at all?
from another site i seen people cut out a circle to fit on the rim of the spare and just mount it on their.
My amp is mounted where my stock underfloor sub was. I do not have a huge problem with overheating, but if i turn the radio past 43 (i still run the stock radio), it will cut out after a while til the amp cools. But at 40 its more than loud enough, and never cuts out.
"I still try to think positive, cuz in life, god take, god give"
you don't have any issue with blowing the fuse on the amp do you? even if you do you can just replace the fuse easily...i was just wondering for future info when i do this...what i should expect out of it.
I'm newbie to this forum, how's everyone doing? I'm planning to put a Sub in my Scion too, quick question though do i need to get a new Head Unit for it? because the stock head Unit normally doesn't have the extra Blue wire for the Amp to transmit signal to the Sub? Not Sure if Scion head Unit have it or not? it's probably do since the factory have the option for u to upgrade with the bazuka sub right?
OK guys. Sorry to not get ya those pics. The weather has been crappy here and the GF has got me jet lagged twice over. I will endeavr to get them tomorrow. Till then, here is my amp install. My 10" will knock your balls off. 2ohms mono and never shut down from over heat ever.

what size wire are you using? looks like 4awg... think you could fit 0/1awg in that same hole?
Thanks
