HU and speaker Q:

This is a discussion on HU and speaker Q: within the Audio and Electronics forums, part of the Scion tC category; i was just wondering did anyone switch the Hui out and kept the stock speakers and how does it sound ...

    Default HU and speaker Q:

    i was just wondering did anyone switch the Hui out and kept the stock speakers and how does it sound when you did that? I really dont like the sound system of the car and i feel that it's the stock Hu thta i have on it. i want to just switch out the Hu and keep the speaker but if i have to then i will switch out the speakers too. thanks for your time.

    The stock HU is actually quite good for the car. It matches the car beautiful IMO. Do you try changing the SSP modes or holding the SSP button down and change the car modes? What you need is just a good mono amp and excellent 10" woofer/enclosure.

    yea i did the ssp thing and still not to my liking. i was looking into the INFINITY BASSLINK as an add on to save some trunk space.

    i switched it all out i went alpine componet speakes and 7inch touchscreen i love it sounds awesome

    I switched over to an Alpine HU and it sounds really good with the stock speakers since they are already components.

    have u seen the stock speakers they are paper cones and super thin plastic. they looked real cheap.

    I have the slightly older, motorized cousin to that one. It is not special but was more bang for the buck. I would play with one at a show room first.

    Switched out the h\u the stock speakers are so so for now but they wont last long sounds better than with the stock h\u

    yeah who knows how long they will hold up lol. well it depemds on what kinda music you listen to..

    well they just need to last past the holidays then im replacing them with some mb quart PVF 216 or some diamond 6s haven't decided yet but i know the stock wont last long playing them loud.

    if u wont good loud sound very rarely does the stock equipment live up to par.
