    Default Key Fob won't work

Today I had to replace the battery in my key fob because when I got back from running an errand for my work the car wouldn't lock with the remote, so I replaced the battery in it, the light on the remote blinks, you know the little red one next to the lock button, and when I push the button nothing happens, I have to unlock and lock the doors with my key, do I have to do anything to reset something or what? I'm really getting frustrated with it. Any suggestions or a solution will be a big help, Thanks!

Fixed and didn't have to take it to the dealer, all I did was just unplug the negative battery terminal for about 10 minutes plugged it back in and it worked fine.

I replaced mine and had no issues, nor did I had to reset the immobilizer/lock modules by disconnecting the battery. Interesting though. Anyone else had issues doing this?

Mine wouldnt work for 2 days, after that it started working again and I have had no problems since. It does suck using keys after you get used to "clicking" the doors open.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. Taking my 06 to the Reno/Tahoe for the weekend.

I have killed one fob already. wore through the buttons. I am hard on keys because of my work and having them in my pockets.
