Hello,
I just bought a 2008 Scion tC with the premium audio option (I probably should've gotten an aftermarket HU, but I got carried away). I realize the screen should have a blue color to it, but something happened and it is now just white and black. I am unsure if this is the head unit actually failing, or I did some random button pushing that toggled it. Unfortunately I wasn't given the user manual for the radio, nor do they have it on their site (they only have instructions for 2007 and earlier... which aren't the same). Can anyone here help, or at least know where I can grab an online manual (google is not being nice to me) ? Thank you! |

i got at 2008 tc with premium audio option as well but when i first tested the car, the pioneer HU was in black and white. i thought that was normal now kind of sucks to hear that its supposed to be in a blue color. if anyone could help out with this, it would be greatly appreciated.

![]() I even eyedroppered a pixel on that image and it is definitely considered blueish. However, my point is moot, since I just noticed the disclaimer on the picture itself: "Prototype image shown and subject to change." I guess it's just advertising |

Update:
Well, I showed the picture to friends of mine, one of whom is a graphic artist. It seems like the picture on the Scion website was most likely oversaturated during editing. This is further supported when watching the video highlighting the radio, where a supposedly grayscale ipod's screen also had that bluish tinge to it. Bottom line, the radio display is black/white/grey, but Scion's marketing department dropped the ball when putting up the picture and video (hopefully unknowingly). Although disappointed that the radio isn't blue (which I DO believe would make it look better), I'm glad that I haven't gotten a faulty product and so far I am very happy with my car purchase. |

SquallLHeart can probably get the button color changed out for you, the screen is completely different. You could try layering a colored, transparent film over it to see if the hues will change. Autozone and the like have the film in red and amber for fixing lenses. That's a start.
