Put it on a hidden toggle switch so that you can switch the mode back in forth. That will help you in avoiding tickets as some areas have laws on video screens in view of the driver with the vehicle in gear. Back in the early days of video players, which was a migration from RV's, any view screen in view of the driver was illegal. That was why you could only get DIN-E sized, motorized video displays. I used to see police go to the local car shows, specifically checking for this. Heck, they would carry light meters and bust you on tint. The best thing is to know your local and state laws.

I have plenty of out-of-the-box ideas. Just give me a scenario and I will come up with a better alternative.

by just removing the wire that goes to your e-brake wont work, there is also a movment sensor in the navigation as well, i havent figured out where that is yet. but all that will do is let you watch movies while not in motion and while the ebrake is down ,atleast in my tc thats whats happenen

Ditto, what trouble are you having? Are they aftermarket or stock?

Yeah the vehicle in motion thing really messed me up when I first bought mine. I could never get the nav to work!! I just thought it was the blonde hair . I would like to put a toggle switch in mine, maybe I'll go to Worldwide stereo and see what they can do. If I find out I'll let you know.
