    Default I need some help

Ok guys. I know pretty much nothing about audio systems. I have the OEM sub (07). For some reason, I have this hum in the sub all the time now. I have it set to the lowest setting so that I don't have to hear that crap. But if I turn it all the way back up like I had it, the hum will completely drown out any music I try to listen to. I'm thinking it's the ground wires. Maybe I need to run another one. The hum does not go up or down depending on my RPM. I would just rather ask you guys first before I try to do anything to it.

Well, i don't really know much about audio ether but it cant hurt to check over the wires and see if any of them are cracking or in a bind (could cause them to break inside the rubber/plastic and cause a weak connection) Sorry i can't be more help

Check the rca connections running into the amp. I know that if an rca connection comes loose in a home entertainment sub, then it has a VERY loud hum.

agreed. the amp does have an affect like that sometimes. even check all your wires make sure they're secure and whatnot. my friend's car used to hum and i think the amp was the issue.

I believe the amp is behind the sub box, attached to the back of it.

i was at a toyota/scion dealership today and the guy told me that the amps are usually installed behind the headunit. so check your connections and grounds around there

I forgot to post in here lol. Anyway, I ran the car with the sub off for a couple of days and I turned it back on Tuesday. Well, guess what? It works fine now. I have no idea why and I really don't care. So, for now, it works! *knock on wood*
