I thought I would hijack this thread and keep iPod issues in one place.

JUST bought an '08 tC, with the upgraded Pioneer unit. Have both of the Scion connector cables, 3.5mm and iPod. The problem is that when I hook the iPod to the iPod cable, it will play, but with direct control at the ipod only, not on the head unit or through the steering wheel as designed.

I've got the G5 video 30gig iPod, yeah, it's been around a while, but it works fine in every other application I have for it, but when i attach the cable, it doesn't even charge or recognize it in any way. When I hook up my gf's nano, it shows that it's charging, but it doesn't allow for slave operation.....what's up?

Hmm, that's an odd one. You got me. Would it have anything to do with the upgraded Pioneer? I wouldn't think it would since the idea is to have an upgraded stereo, not one that does less...

Did the connectivity work okay when you had the previous Pioneer?

I suppose it could be the cable itself somehow. Maybe try purchasing another one?? I got mine on an Ebay store for around $25.00

Try turning your car off. Turn the ignition to acc but make sure the head unit is off. Press and hold the menu button until a separate menu appears. You can turn the direct control on and off from that menu. Make sure it is off.

To access your playlists/songs, you know that you have to press and hold the turn knob until the head unit beeps and a control menu pops up, right?
