Question about third brake light on 2006 TC

I just purchased a 2006 TC yesterday and took it through inspection today. I was told the third brake light wasn't working, they passed me but instructed that I take care of it. I just checked and I can't find anyway to even see about changing a bulb. I even popped off two covers inside the hatch and I don't even see any wired lamps. What am I missing on this?

i've notice over the past few years that some tc's have had a loose third brake light harness and or connector usually causes it not to work properly at times. try moving or tugging the 3rd brake light harness while some one applies the brakes. to if the start working. just remove those two caps on your hatch near the center. and youll see 3rd brake light harness.

There may be nothing wrong at all as the inspector may have misdiagnosed. Our TBL is based on LED technology so there is no bulbs to replace. The TBL only has lights in the center (does not go all the way across) so the tech may have thought it was going bad or had a short. You should verify for yourself that it is lighting up at all. If it does, then you are golden.
