2012 Stock Deck

Hello, I'm wondering how good/decent is the stock pioneer deck for the 2012? I apologize in advance if this question has been asked already, but I am a tad too busy to go forum searching.

Is it the same as the 2011 and if so how is it? Due to its name, Pioneer, I am pretty sure it's somewhat decent. I don't have the car yet but I'm getting it delivered some time next week because it was at the port when I bought the car. When I test drove the 2011 one, I didn't have the opportunity to really work the system because the salesman was there and I didn't have my tunes on me. Much thanks is appreciated.

I would expect that the standard radio package is the same for the 2011 and 2012 model years with 2011 being the new body style (Gen2) changeover. The newer system has 8 speakers as opposed to the previous' 6 speakers+1 sub. I found the standard offering similar in sound to the Gen1's without tinkering with the controls and listening to the squalid radio stations that New Orleans has to offer. I, for one, am not a bit shy when testing out a new vehicle. You should see the blood rush from the faces of the salesperson's when I tell them that I am going to give the car a full shakedown test drive. Sometimes they are clueless as to what to expect and they start to get all nervous. Now, I don't thrash a new car because it has not been broke in yet but I do put it thru it's paces enough to get a general feel for the car.

I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality and features of the Gen1 audio system. For an OEM system in a car well south of 20K$, it was darn near top-notch. Once the hidden car equalization profiles (easter egg) was discovered, I found that a single 10" sub with plenty of power to round out the soundstage. True audiophiles, however, will be disappointed in soundfield presence.
