Default Change The Stock Stereo Message

    Written By: Alex8181

    Difficulty (1-5): 1
    Time Frame: 2 Minutes

One of the cool features littered throughout the TC is the ability to change the welcome message on the stock radio. You can either do your own custom message with the first set of instructions or you can set one of Scion's hidden messages with one of the following instructions.

    Set custom message (2006):

Step 1: When the key is in the "OFF" position, press and hold the "MUTE" button on the stereo deck.

Step 2: While still holding the button, switch the key to the "ACC" setting.

Step 3: Than quickly go from the "MUTE" button to the number "1" button and hold that down.

Step 4: While holding the "1" button, switch the ignition back to "OFF".
The stereo should still remain on even with the ignition in the "OFF" position.

Step 5: You should be able to customize your message by using the number "3" and "4" buttons to change characters and the number "6" button to select the character.

    Set custom message (2005):

Step 1: When the key is in the "OFF" position, press and hold the Audio "A" button on the stereo deck.

Step 2: While still holding the button, switch the key to the "ACC" setting.

Step 3: Than quickly go from the "A" button to the "MUTE" button and hold that down.

Step 4: While holding the "MUTE" button switch the igniton back to "OFF". The stereo should still remain on even with the ignition in the "OFF" position.

Step 5: You should be able to customize your message by using the volume buttons to change characters and the "A" button to select the character.

    To set "WhatMovesYou" message:

Step 1: Repeat steps 1 and 2 of the custom message instructions.

Step 2: Press and hold both the "A" button and the "TEXT" button.

Step 3: Switch the ignition from "ACC" back to "OFF".

    To set "PushMyButton" message:

Step 1: Repeat steps 1 and 2 of the custom message instructions.

Step 2: Press and hold the "A", "M", and "2" buttons.

Step 3: Switch the ignition from "ACC" back to "OFF".

    To set "Scion=A+B+C" message:

Step 1: Make sure the radio is in the "AM" radio setting.

Step 2: Repeat steps 1 and 2 of the custom message instructions.

Step 3: Press and hold "FOLDER UP" and "SCAN"

Step 4: Switch the ignition from "ACC" back to "OFF"

To set "SCION" in Japanese characters:

Step 1: Make sure there is no CD in the deck.

Step 2: Repeat steps 1 and 2 of the custom message instructions.

Step 3: Insert a CD and set it to track 2.

Step 4: Press and hold "FOLDER DOWN" and "TEXT".

Step 5: Switch the ignition from "ACC" back to "OFF".
