Well, the problem is tC's for the most part are pretty slow. With the supercharger its about 15 seconds. Most big budget tC's (high boost) run around 13 seconds in the quarter (some dip into the 12's)
For the most part, it can hold its own to most other cars in its class in a straight line. But without a very substansial budget, the tC is simply outclassed. NOW put a decent suspension on a tC and some good tires, and go run a SCCA event. It will suprise you. The world works in more than a straight line. And i still think its pretty stupid to brag about who you raced on the street. Im waiting on the post to come along in this thread that everyone can go "

Good job, wanna cookie?
Sorry i diagree with the purpose of this thread "Hey I raced a lamborghini with my intake'd tC and BEAT HIS ASS!!" Its juvenille to brag about how you didnt manage to kill yourself while going XX mph on public roads. Brag about what you do on the track. I doubt theres anyone on this board that wants to hear boasting of being irresponsible. Hell in japan and when i was younger i street raced, everyone in our scene is guily of it at one time or another, but its not something i openly brag to other people about.

there is no fight. thats actually what i'm trying to avoid, you know. i mean what going to happen we will go back and forth on the topic and there is no point. i'm not going to waste my time posting messages back and forth. "ah your a dick head, yeah well your an *******", thats stupid. thats something that little kids do. i didn't join the forums for that and i'm pretty sure no one else did. thats why i just want to squash it now.

Back in the 70's and 80's around Big D and G-Town, we had plenty of SR. People were responsible back then. We had specific places to go that were out of the way with a smooth and safe road surface. We had people who handled the racing and made sure that the "track" was clear to race.
These places were well known. Even the Police knew about. Heck, they would come and watch, sometimes, bring their own cars Off Duty. It was an understated rule that you could only go-fast and race in these specific areas only. Anyone that was caught SR elsewhere had their arse kick'd. This system worked well till around 1988-90 when the Police were forced to close down all of the local Cruise Strips. With these closed down, all of the idiots started coming to the SR strips making them too crowded and unsafe. I seen several times where nobody could race because of these idiots cruising up and down the strip. Of course, the Police were forced to close down all of the SR down. I say "the Police were forced to close down" for the simple fact that they needed to be. We all caused it to happen by letting knuckleheads onto the Cruise Strips and at the SR's. We did not police our own and lost that freedom. Now, people just race wherever and whenever and that is not safe for anyone. There are some small associations out there, I believe, that are advocating taking it to the track. That is a great idea, but whom of you live within an hour of a track? You could form a loacal association for your area/town and partner with these national campaigns to lobby your city to allow sanctioned SR in an appropriate area. You could even campaign to have the city and the private sector build a public race track. Keep it safe and keep it real
