No. We have at least one member that I can think of that have turbo kits and an automatic transmission.
A turbo, exhaust gasses go into the turbocharger and spin it. With a supercharger, air goes in, witchcraft happens and you go faster - Jeremy Clarkson
does any one else have any information on this?
ROFL! The auto trans slamming gears? Now, that is laughable.
I can assure you that the 4 speed juice box does not have firm shifts. Soft gear changes and gear ratios are what makes the auto trans version of the tC feel like it has no power compared to it's manual trans brother. The issue that I am aware of is that the auto trans can easily suffer from burnt clutch packs, fractured stator (torque converter), and damaged input shaft from too much torque from a turbo making close to 300whp.
There is no need to rebuild the motor if you keep it at 8PSI or less. You can run 10 PSI on a Stage II kit with bigger injectors, intercooler, tuning, and on 93 Octane. This also has nothing to do with the transmission. You were given some bad gouge.

Dude I'm in the same situation. Now although I would LOVE to swap to manuel it's too pricy and he'll of a hassle so I was told that I could spend less and try and supe up to a racing tranny to be able to handle all that torque. Now. Need some insight on how to do this and if this method would be accurate solution for this auto tranny dying to be turbo'd out. So any help from the experienced guys???
How much torque are you planning on throwing at it? The auto trans can easily handle 200ftlbs of torque with the TRD S/C. Check and see how much actual power you will be making. There are a few performance trans shops that can beef up the auto trans a bit.
Note: The TRD S/C does not make 200 ftlbs of torque out of the box. Toyota, being reliable as their are, would not push the auto trans to the edge of it's limits so there is some headroom, thus 200 ftlbs should be acceptable for a daily driver.
