Welcome. This should get you started. You will need to find a wrecked manual tC to use as a donor.

you car rewire a auto ecu to run the manual transmission but you will throw a lot of codes.

Yes, but always best to run the correct ECM so that it does not cause issues. There may be some different mappings between the two. If you can get your hands on a manual trans then you should be able to nab the ECM as well. I am not saying that the method you stated won't work, I just am not a fan of hacking harnesses. It must be the military aircraft mechanic in me.

yes i agree with you it is best to run a manual ecu by far. i am one of those strange people to that believes in retuning the car after swapping out a transmission or gearing and not to be off subject here. What kinda aircraft did you work on?

    Currently the venerable C-130T Hercules.
2009 tranny swap auto to manual-my-two-4-bangers.jpg

Previously it was the C-40A Clipper passenger/cargo plane derived from the commercial 737-700R. I am a Plank Owner on that platform.

Back on subject; I once had a car with a competition car stereo system and a high tech alarm. It took me 3 solid days to build and install. When I had to let the car go back (Bankruptcy), it took me only 3 hours. Everything was plug and play. Gotta to love plugs.

just got my extra transmissions to do the swap. the new mounts, Still need pedels, a shifter, a clutch, flywheel, and various other parts. I know what to get but does any body got any suggestions on what i should go with. I eventually want to make around 300 whp with a similar amount of torque.

You can get most of the shifter with a TRD short throw shifter. If you need even less throw on the shifter, I can get you hooked up with an Axxtion 30% STS that mounts to the shift quadrant on the transmission. You can also find bronze and Delrin shifter cage bushings on the market. Numerous people run the Fidanza LW flywheel. I have one myself though it is not installed; quality piece. For clutch, you should get atleast a Stage III with an advance composite clutch facing. Some run Spec, Exedy, and Clutch Masters. I have a Spec Stage III clutch that I have yet to install as I had heard there was a bad batch that would loose there dampening springs. This was over 3 years ago. If you have the money and want the best setup, look towards a dual clutch setup. They provide the best of everything even though it has far more clamping load than you need. A triple clutch for 300ftlbs of torque is just plain overkill. A SS clutch slave line might be in order as well.

i dont want to over do it but i think 300 whp is good enough for me and that it is right at a point to be ok for a front wheel drive car.

Very correct. Beyond that we are talking about LSD, stiff powertrain mounts, subframe connectors/roll-cage, adjustable suspension, Ultra high performance summer tires/DOT slicks (for track duty), etc.

I hear ya. Those are some of the ways to combat that without alot of wheel play. Our steering does a fairly good job of maintaining control with added hand pressure. That is why the power steering pump is regulated to 1,131 to
    1,204 PSI.

So did you swap to the manual? My girlfriend may want to switch to an automatic, do you still have all the parts you removed?
