The LW flywheel should not affect DD feel with clutch engagement, as long as, it is balanced and the facing is quality steel. Your calibrated butt dyno should see the RPM sweep a bit faster as with a LW crank pulley.

its cool we all are busy people. I check this out between my classes
i got a 9.5lb flywheel and the RPM's do go up quicker. no extra HP but since its lighter than stock, it feels a little quicker. it's great for DD since i DD my tC.
When it comes to LW accessories driven directly off the rotating assembly it lightens the load on motor. This increases efficiency of the motor's ability to produce work. The RPM's become slightly faster and there is an increase in BHP. These devices do not create any extra power in themselves. The power gain is actually the recovered energy that was utilized to drive the heavier weight, though the gains might be minimal. This is called Waste Recovery. Think of it as a person who weighs 170lbs that runs the mile in 4.00 minutes. He eats nothing but junk food and now weighs 190lbs. Now carrying the extra 20lbs of body weight, he runs the mile in 4.25 minutes.

Hey, I'm new to this site and was wondering what a flywheel is and what it does. I just wanna learn more about cars so sorry, if thats a stupid question
A flywheel is actually 3 things on a manual transmission motor.
1. It provides a mating surface against which the clutch is manually disengages/engages the rotation assembly of the motor via the crankshaft.
2. The circumference of the flywheel is lined with straight cut teeth that the starter drive gear engages when the bendix is extended to turn over the rotating assembly.
3. Due to it's circumference being larger than that of the crank, it can be used to further balance the rotating assembly and is usually balanced against the harmonic damper of the crank pulley.
An automatic transmission has something similar that is called a flexplate. Unlike the flywheel, it has no mating surface as there is no external clutch. It provides a means to bolt the torque converter to the rotating assembly and flexes somewhat to absorb drivetrain shock. It also fulfills items 2 and 3.
