    Default Clutch issue

Ok got a question for ya'll.
I have a 2007 manual TC. My clutch went out at 52000 miles I got it used and didn't drive it any different that my old 97 accord which factory clutch lasted till 134000 miles. They said the bearings, clutch kit and the fly wheel are bad and since it’s a "durable Item" I have to pay out of pocket. Well they think my fly wheel is bad, I wouldn’t let them touch it since I’m poorish. Most masters students are, or students in general. Is it worth it to go through the dealer or go to an external shop? Do I just get a factory clutch replacement or is there a different clutch that would be better for it? Any information would be great biking 10 miles or more at a time kind of sucks.

I did get a quote from the dealer though its 1700 to fix.

Getting in shape now are we? Some clutches handle the abuse well while others do not. Still, some clutches fail with just normal driving. Me, I think that there is a clutch pedal adjustment or lack of proper grease on the shift fork/thrust bearing. I would suggest getting an upgraded aftermarket Stage 2 clutch and a LW flywheel from ACT or Fidanza. Unfortunately, with over 50K miles and that you are the 2nd owner, you are not going to get any love from the Dealership. You could try contacting the regional Toyota Tech Rep and have a trouble case started.

Thanks for the quick response and the info. I have two warranties and in the very fine print it states that manuals are on your own so…. Ill get over that fact after a few weeks. Yeah def getting in shape more so than I already was for soccer.
