    Default throttle body bypass?

Does anyone know anything about this? Seems to me that even if this did make any gains it would not be nearly close to 8hp.

Real simple. It bypasses the radiator coolant that flows thru your TB to warm it up during cold weather. I am not sure if the OEM setup has a bypass function or not. Cold weather climaes need this for drivability till the engin is at normal operating temps. Warm and hot weather climates really don't need this feature near as much. Your most gains with it bypassed would be on the hottest days when compared to it flowing normally.

This is an easy DIY install and you can get all the parts you need from autopart store. CAUTION: This will most likely void your powertrain warranty if the Dealer sees it so make it reversable.

Crazy thought here, but maybe you could run a cryo system thru the bypass to semi-cool your air charge temp. May only be neglible but worth some R&D.

I tried this thing. All it is is a connecter tube that fits the coolant hoses together instead of running it through the throttle body. It actually makes a difference, surprisingly, but I took mine out because when its like 50 degrees outside your car idles like sh*t for the first ten minutes.

You could do like the old domestics and put a valve there to cut the flow off once the engine is warm.

Eureka. I just postulated a new product idea. I call it the TBI/C short for Throttlebody Intercooler. It will be able to heat and cool your TB at the flick of a switch. You get the heat for cold weather operation and you get the cold for hot weather operation. This all depends on the thermal coefficient that the TB has with the incoming air.

It is all about sourcing the right parts that are cost effective and reliable. Essientially just a retake on current product with a high-tec approach. Don't worry. Microsuck is not involved!

Microsoft makes crappy, bug ridden, security flawed software, hence the affectionate term, Microsuck. Yep, I spent way too many hours in front of a server.

Almost forgot what I came up with. Using a Peltier device to chill or heat a glycol fluid running through a separate air-water radiator and pump. With a Peltier device, you can switch polarity to go from hot and cold. Will it make a difference and do you get the bang for a buck? Only building and testing will find that out. Not having a shop to do the work makes this kind of R&D work possible.
