The OEM airbox is designed with a sound muffler to keep the engine bay as quiet as possible. That was one thing about the tC that I thought it was lacking; verbal character. An SRI or CAI will give you some air sucking noise (music to me) at WOT. If your exhaust is stock, then you will beable to notice the difference better because the OEM exhaust is so quiet.

I already changed the intake I put an SRI on it. I can tell a difference in noise but I was wondering if changing the filter on the SRI that I bought will change the sound anymore. It's just a cheap Intake off of ebay. Also if I change the exhaust will that change the Intake noise?

    Thanks.

Not really. The exhaust would allow it to flow more but not enough to make a preceptible change. Now boost it to 20 PSI and you will be getting some major "suck" going on. The filter that came with yours is probably made in the same factory overseas as 80% of the intakes out there. Just use that one till it gets dirty then buy you a better one.

How would I boost it to 20 PSI? Sorry if any of these questions seem stupid.

You can get to 20 PSI with a turbo and built motor or you can watch and see how Project tC gets boosted with a hybrid TRD S/C to 20PSI (theoretical limit of the TRD/ Vortec compressor).
