It could be the syncros. They are not the best in the world shifting wise, but they are tough enough to take me grinding thru them. The problem may reside with your clutch. You could have a loose puck or broken spring. What brand is it? If it is Clutch Masters, then that there may be the problem. Alot of people have claimed that theirs failed on them or wore out early.

These syncros tend not to sync well under heavy torque. What is your driving style while the problem is happening; light foot or heavy foot? Also, believe it or not, I have found that gear crunching under high torque, quick shifting is relevant to my seat position. That is to say that the clutch travel is very long making quick shifting difficult. Their is also alot of dead play in the pedal. To shorten the throw for better clutch release timing with the engagement of the syncros requires that your aseat be moved forward more than is your normal comfort seat adjustment. With your knees bent, it provides you with more force for full travel and puts clutch pedal staged deeper in the throw. This does not mean riding your clutch, just prestaging your clutch pedal to taking up the dead play. Think of it of staging a tree.
