i would personally go with the TRD supercharger package and have them install it in order to not void your warranty. turbos are nice too though, either way you can upgrade them later. its basically the same price to upgrade.

It depends on what you want. Superchargers mechanically use the engine to induct more air and produce more power (they take power to make power). Turbochargers can either run off exhaust gases or from forced induction (they just add on power). On average, turbochargers produce more horsepower and torque than superchargers. However, this extra power is only produced when the car needs it (i.e. when you really want to fly). With a supercharger, the power is always there, immediately. This causes turbocharged cars to maintain better gas mileage than those with superchargers. I personally prefer turbochargers. Again, just my preference. Another factor is your choice of transmission. The only supercharger on the market that I'm aware of is the one from TRD, which requires a manual transmission. There are plenty of turbochargers available for both manuals and automatics. Hope this helped.
Anything made by the company is more reliable but I heard of a turbo that creates 600hp

You really can't say that a turbo doesn't take any power away from the engine. I mean, the purpose of a bigger exhaust is to relieve exhaust pressure, thus allowing the engine to breathe easier and make more power. A turbo will inevitably cost some power because of decreased exhaust flow. But you're right in that it uses alot less than a sc while producing higher gains, and that's obviously the more important fact.Originally Posted by SPARTAN
Here's my question though... is the TRD sc able to be adjusted/modified for higher output? I mean, I know that at least with a turbo setup you can have a good bit of control over boost levels. Secondly, somebody mentioned that the TRD sc doesn't come with an intercooler? is that true, and can one be added without voiding the powertrain warranty? (which is my biggest reason for wanting the TRD)
Wat Intake Should I Put On My Tc
I'm sure you could find plenty of information if you looked around the forums a bit. Not to mention, your question doesn't really belong here in a thread about turbos vs. superchargers.
But since I'm wasting a post replying to this anyway, I usually suggest an el cheapo intake from eBay, with a good quality air filter. The difference between a cheap one and a top-of-the-line name brand intake might be 1 or 2 hp at best.... definitely NOT worth the extra money you'll throw at it imho. Just throw away the crappy filter that comes with it and put some of that money you saved into a good K&N filter.
Now back to my question... can you adjust the boost pressure on the TRD sc? and can I add an intercooler without voiding any warranties?
God Bless the AAA!
