It depends on how it is engineered, including the tranny. It used to be back in the dynosaur days, that transmissions were sloppy. By adding a shift kit, the tranny operated more efficiently, therefore, lasted longer. In today's modern space traveling world, the trannys are so well engineered that adding a shift kit could actually shorten its life. All I really can say is you got a 50/50 chance.

I personally don't feel that the Scion tC needs a shift kit, the OEM transmission is set up from the factory the way it is for a reason. If your looking for better shifts, why not upgrade your flywheel (Fidanza) and clutch. (Exedy), (Clutch Masters), (ACT) = Advanced Clutch Technology for example may have what your looking for to upgrade. I'm not saying to not buy a shift kit, its your ride and you can do what you want with it, but as Navy said, if it could lead to a shorter tranny life, me personally, I'd refrain from buying it.
