Hey guys new tc owner and new forum poster. Performance wise what is the best thing to change out of the tc. I have only owned my 07 tc for about 2 weeks and I already love it. Thanks for the help.

let it breathe!!! intake exhaust : )
I agree, I would go with intake and exhaust first, I have the TRD exhaust which sounds really good, not too loud at cruising speeds but when you step on it you can really hear it, as for intake I have an Injen CAI which I am also very happy with. I bought my car with the TRD already on it otherwise it is rather expensive, but just putting my two cents in.
Yea I have the TRD exhaust, I really like the sound. I have been looking around for an intake for about a week and finding it hard to find some for an 07. Usually i would not try but would an 06 intake work on an 07?
I have the greddy evo2 exhaust it also sound good. But trd is very nice.

No, the 06 intakes will not work on the 07, something with the MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor) but there are intakes out there for the 07 and like I said I would go with Injen, it sounds awesome with the TRD exhaust.
yes injen is by far the best. i also have the trd axle back and the invidia s-pipe great sounding combo. getting mmw header soon.
How does it sound with the S-pipe and a stock header? I want to upgrade mine and was wondering how it would sound? I don't want to sound like rice boiling down the street.
it shouldn't sound bad at all .. i've hear sum custom s-pipes and everything else stock and it sounds a lil deeper than an all stock tC .. thats just my opinion n e wayz

sounds deeper than just the trd axleback.
yup .. but i heard axle backs rob power thats why i bought a cat back .. i dunno .. jus sumthin i read .. n e wayz .. if u want to save money on labor get as much dun at once if u want headers and a cat or axle back .. unless u get it for free or do it ur self![]()

i was thinkin about going to my local muffler shop and getting them to run 2.5 inch pipe from the s pipe to the trd axleback i wonder how that would sound????
No power loss, actually it is a power gain in the form of HP in the mid to high powerband. What you perceive as a power loss is the fact that the power band of the motor has shifted up the RPM scale. Less back-pressure equates to max torque starting at higher revs. You feel any differences of torque in the lower bands and conversly you have less capability of perception of torque at higher RPM's.
Extremely loud. Absolutely deafening on the highway. Trust me, I had it. Unless you run a turbo, you need to run a metalized cat and large resonator. I have (2) 12" resonators on my custom 2.5" exhaust w/ HKS Power exhaust and it is still very loud. Try sticking with the Magnaflow exhaust for N/A and S/C.

so u think the s-pipe and axleback is plenty for s/c.
I got the s/c and I want 3 inch all the way back to my greddy axle back.

i was thinkin about matching the invidia s-pipe i got just stay that size all the way back to my axleback. but navy said it would be ungodly loud... but loud isnt always bad lol.
Don't take it over 2.5". An S/C does not produce the exhaust pressures that a turbo does nor is it reliant on exhaust system efficiency for power. If you go 3", your low-end torque and off-idle throttle response will go to sh*t. Since your HP is on a linear curve, you feel the torque shift to higher RPM band to be not so happy. Controlled Back Pressure is the TRD S/C friend.
If you install a big magna-flow resonator and install a high-flow cat, it should be in the bearable range. 2.25 on a N/A is perfect and 2.5" on an S/C is just right. The important thing is to keep the exhaust flowing smoothly and alleviate obstructions.

so 2.5 all the way back would be safe not change my torque a whole lot?
Hey navylife have you dynoed yours?
