Default Megan Headers 02 sensor problem

Did anyone have problems with secondary 02 sensor after installling headers that removed the cat tripping a check engine cell? I have an custome exhuast with a resonator on it. What do you recommend for a solution to this problem?

You're not alone.. it seems every header on the market causes the CEL.

Try this 02 simulator.. it will remove the CEL.

Its been my understanding from talking to other Scion tC owners on here and as well as Scikotics that most if not all headers will cause a CEL. Once my income taxes come in I am next to have my whole exhaust overhauled from the header back. I called a well-known performance/exhaust shop where I live and they told me my tC may or may not trip a CEL. I was also told its all going to depend on how much air flow is passing over the bank 1 o2 and bank 2 o2 sensor. I was also told to do a high flow CAT (Magnaflow, CatCo) and keep the diameter of the pipe the same from the header back. A resonator isn't necessary either. Worse case scenario, I'll have to pick up a CEL Eliminator from AutoZone or Advance Auto. I'll know more info once I have my exhaust done. The shop also told me they have done a few full exhaust systems on a tC and one xB and only one had a CEL come on.

I have a full custom 2.5" exhaust with HKS muffler, (2) 12" top speed resonators, no cats, and the DC Sports header. I have this setup and absolutely no problem with an O2 associated MIL or DTC.

Uh, that was the information that I provided in the link in my previous post.

MIL code caused by aftermarket header install and the cheap and simple fix

SL may have their resources, but we have ours too. Just look down towards the bottom of the main Forum page and you will see our Tech Article and How-to section. Enjoy.
