About LinkBacksI have a stock 07 tc and want to add some more hp and sound to it. For now I'm just gonna go with bolt ons since I don't have the money for forced induction and stuff like that yet. So i know that an intake and exhaust would be the right things to do.(and eventually a fuel unit) but i'm not exactly sure which ones would be the best choice.? What i was thinkin about going with was an ARC induction box and a DC axle back exhuast. I got the idea from modified mag. Thats what they used in their tc build up, but i don't think theirs was an 07. I've looked a little and couldn't find those parts for the 07. So that was upsetting. Maybe i didn't look enough.? I do want a nice deep tone without any raspiness. DC rated their exhaust at 95 dbs. That would be pretty loud but i don't know if it would sound GOOD.? Maybe someone could help me out a little or something. Thanks!

i heard the ARC induction box is not really for HP gains .. more for a show off look .. you should get a AEM or an Injen CAI .. i'm not too much of a fan with axle backs but you can get one if you like .. Magna Flow & Borla are two cat backs that i kno aren't raspy but have a nice deep tone .. thats just my suggestion

ditto on the magna flow. The TRD axle-back sounds perfect till you change the header.

thanks for the suggestions. Yeah I'm tryin to stay away from the ricer sound. I just want some tone so that some heads will turn when i drive by.lol nothin crazy or anything. Thats why i'm just going to stick with an exhaust and not aadd any headers right now. I also don't know which would be better for all around performance and good sound gain. A full system, cat back, or axle back.?

true .. well like i said axle backs are an "ehh" to me .. i guess it depends on the manufacturer .. its not acurate, but what i did was listen to the sounds on you tube .. but our friend navylife59 said thats not good to do because the sound quality that they use to record the intake or exhaust could be crappy .. and when you listen to it you will think that particular intake or exhaust sounds ricey but in actuality it doesnt .. or it can work out the other way around .. and i agree 100% .. i didn't think of that .. so my best bet is to look around .. go to car meets and see if you like what you see and hear

yeah with the you tube thing. That kinda sounds like a dangerous way to go.lol I tried listening to some and idk. And i wish there were car meets around here for tuners. There's practically none. Mostly muscle car shows and classics. I mean there cool to go to and everything but don't help out much.lol Back in march i went to HIN in chicago so that was pretty sweet. I looked for the injen cai for the 07 and couldn't find any.?

i see .. damn that sucks .. over here theres a Scion meet every wednesday night at Lowes theatre in Long Island .. check ebay .. i saw a couple there .. also try using froogle.com and put in 2007 Scion tC injen intake and see if that works .. lemme kno how it turns out

alright i got my exhuast and s pipe put in and i have to say i like it a lot...the only problem with the skunk2 muffler is taht the tip is 4" so its pretty loud so it was good that it came with a silencer. only thing is i dont like the look but i have it in cause i dont like the loud noise. now i need to install my crank pulley hehehe

Paint your silencer flat black on the cone part that faces outward. It will give the illusion that it is not installed.

Yeah I heard that the skunk 2's are pretty loud.lol I made a decision though and should be getting the stuff by... Hopefully next week. I ordered and injen cold cai and ordered a megan racing oe rs style exhaust. I'm really excited to see how it sounds. When i get them installed I'll let u know what i think.
Thats a really good idea with painting the silencer.

Yeah, ok. I just installed the cai and its pretty cool. Sounds good to. Nice deep sound. I'm excited for my exhaust to come! I'll put some pics up when I get that and let u know how it sounds.
