    Default exhaust work?

ok recently installed a hks muffler axle back.... thinkin about upgrading, buyin a cold intake, and a throttle body.... now wanna bump it up too 3in catback pipe. Now i still gotta pass emissions, i dont think bigger pipe will affect that, but what do i do about resonators? wanna keep the deeper tone of the exhaust and will the bigger pipe affect my sound greatly to where if i get emissions done they might fail me for noise DB's?

    thanx much

This is just my two cents but I would keep the exhaust the way you have it now, my friend had a loud exhaust on his car got a 5 day tag on it, didn't fix it right away, then about a month later got pulled over again for the same problem. I would just leave it the way it is but thats just me.

Don't go to 3" unless your going turbo. It will kill your off idle response an wreck your lower RPM torque curve on N/A.

The general rule of thumb is:

    2.25 N/A OEM - to mild build
    2.5 N/A build, S/C
    3" Turbo

There are always exceptions based on different variables.
