    Default Installation of CAI

I can do this myself b/c it's easy but will it void my warranty? I have the extra warranty that replaces all engine, etc. parts. Do I need to have it installed and or can I do it myself? Again, I'm not worried about difficulty but if it will void my warranty somehow. Thank you!

It will only void the warranty if the dealer can find that the part installed caused the problem, but they can't refuse warranty work on other parts of the car that have no relation to the CAI.

Thanks for the 411! I think that I'll just do it by myself.

Yeah, I installed an Injen CAI on my 08 and it was no problem. You DO NOT have to take the bumper/fender off like it says in the installation instructions. It's a tight fit but you can install from under the fender without much trouble.

You need to buy the 07-08 specific one because the MAF sensor is changed from 06 to 07. Also, I would definitely go with the Injen CAI because it produces a mean grown and makes a noticeable difference in horsepower and torque!

The Injen can do either. I prefer short ram air. Less worries about hydrolocking and it is less restrictive.

It will improve it, short ram over CAI for gas savings, but it would not be too noticeable.

Although Hydrolocking is an issue that many of us worry about including myself, Once you get it installed you will realize that the filter is completely protected and at least 7-8" off the ground behind plastic shields, Injen even sells a Hydro Shield that can go on the filter to pretty much elimintate the chance of hydrolock.

The issue would be with puddles. The splash shields will take care of the splashing so the Hydro Shield is pointless. A BPV would be your best defense against hydrolock. Personally, I just rather having a SRI.

Just turn the CAI section upwards 90° and run thru a hole in your hood. Hey, it works for Land Cruisers!

That might be a while. I don't think the tC's have been around long enough for them to make it to a redneck trailer park.

It would be a well deserved snickers if you actually did the mod.
