Default Stock for stock tC or Celica gts

Hey im new to this forum and i just had a simple question...which car is better a tC or a celics gts? Because im planning to get either of the two, and i'm having a hard time making a decision. The celica has 180hp and is lighter by like around 400-450lbs, but the tC has more torque and can pull more...well i hope you guys can help me....thanks

For all out performance, I would take the Celica. But since the Celica isnt sold anymore, your buying used, so I would reccomend a tC.

Either car is a great choice. The Celica has plenty of USDM/JDM parts to build on, where as, the tC only has a few USDM parts so far. In the end, you will get more reliable ponies out of the tC. A fully JDM Celia GTS is pretty trick and would be a hard thing to pass up on a good deal. Take heed to the other member's warnings and have the used variety checked out thoroughly.

I know that you will have to have an exhaust. i think if you get an intake however, it will be replaced by one that comes with the turbo. not sure about that last part. just make sure when you get a turbo you get a good tune. its easy t oblow up a motor if it has a bad tune or none at all.

I'll go with a Turbo set up
combine the weight of the tC and the power it will get from the turbo
    the results will be insane
the most i've seen so far is 443 WHP 474 TRQ at 22 Lbs of boost
YouTube - Scion tC-x 443 whp dyno pull
if you dnt have the money then a simple I/E/H will work lyk KTeevan said
there are also some pullies and other goodies to free up power

So true!!! Anything over 250WHP S/C, Turbo, or N/A requires engine management (piggy-back/stand-alone) and a good tune. Full set of gauges would be needed just to be safe. Better to know than, than to find out the hard way.

For bolt-on performance, you can start by perusing this sticky. Alot was discussed here. You can post your questions back here in your thread.
    http://www.club-tc.com/forums/perfor...s-more-hp.html

434WHP is awesome. Try 739WHP as first reported exclusively by Club-tC http://www.club-tc.com/forums/autocr...-tc-t-car.html This car was the original turbo tC from 2004 SEMA making 533WHP in street trim.

BTW... I merged your 2 similar threads to keep the number of relevant threads. I did leave your original post as a redirect for 10 days so that you can specific posts.

Thanks....wow thats alot of good information from all of you...my goal is to at least reach the 300hp power mark...im not going to try to go any higher because out here in san jose and milpitas cops are coming down hard...so with the I/H/E, turbo and good tune will i be in the 300hp range?....and how mush boost is a good amount?.....How can you gain torque in a tC or an import because my cousins are all into muscle and i here them talk about upgrading the gears in the back....how does it work with imports?....my actual goal is to keep up with them....they have a 2001 Camaro SS, and the other has a 2001 Mustang Gt....well i hope to hear some more good advice...

300WHP is the magic number to run on the streets. The tC has plenty of torque and is geared real low, actually too low. Traction is the name of the game in the tC. My 228WHP TRD S/C does nothing but roast the tires thru 3rd. Sticky tires, wider rims, and an LSD is what is going to get you the win out of the dig against your RWD pals. So far, there is no help to change the final drive ratio or the long winded 3rd gear.

unfortunately u can NOT use an intake and an header with a turbo only a s/c
the turbo kit comes with a short ram type intake
and an exhaust manifold which replaces the header
you can get use a 3'' cutom pipe for more exhaust flow tho
and a sweet exhaust like GReddy Agency Power & others

the only problem with having a 3" exhaust all the way back(if thats what you mean) is that you lose low end power, but you definately gain it back high end, so if you plan to turbo your car, then i would agree with ac3 b00gi3.
girls at college love the tC
