    Default Best Performance Exhaust?

So I know we've covered the "loudest cat-back" exhaust. But I was wanting some insight and opinions on the best exhaust performance wise. I've looked around some, and it might sound stupid, but I'm leaning towards the MagnaFlow full cat-back exhaust for the tC.

    Define performance?

Big numbers on the dyno? Strong torque band? Low, Mid, High Range power?

Everyone has their own opinions about what performance is, but generally speaking, a cat-back system alone wont create any significant performance gains, especially on a NA motor.

Soulbane you are correct. Cat-backs dont do that much.

What you really want to do is get the cat back without any bends. That kills performance right there. But you have to be careful becuase that is going to be a loud. Also, you lose power down low in the RPM, but get it on top.

You might wanna check out the HKS high power.

    nope
    not at all
    u'll probably dyno
    somewhere around 3-5 WHP
u won't see any power until u add
    a nice header and s-pipe
then u will dyno anywhere from
10-15 WHP .. giv or take a few HP
or u can custom a 3" straight pipe
with no cat .. u'll burn a sh*t load of gas
but u will feel a HUGE gain

With 3" exhaust you will lose A LOT of low end torque. I went with 2.25" dual cat back it keeps the back pressure up for low end and provides a great deal of higher end performance. I dont have to think twice about doing cuisin at 65 in 4th. I just put in 2 glasspacks to keep the sound down. This is what it looks like with 3A performance tip mufflers with out the glasspacks.

The cat-back shouldn't even affect the power less or relocation of the torque band that significantly anyways.

The torque is affected mostly when the pressure closest to the exhaust manifold is affected.

If you toss in a cat-back, you still have the stock S-Pipe and headers being as restrictive as before. There wont be much change period.

Fact is, Turbo cars make enormous gains off of exhaust systems, NA cars just dont.

Default Thats what i was talking about

I wasn't talking about turbos. But 3" on a normally aspirated car will change you low end performance.

2.5" is as big as you want to go on a N/A or S/C 2AZ-FE if your running on the street.

Is this just a simple axleback or a full catback system. AEM's website has their DC Sports link inactive. I wonder if they are stopping that product line or sold it off? The DC Sport axle back has the same exhaust routing as the OEM muffler. The Magna Flow has a slightly more straight path therefore it should flow more efficiently.
