Default megan racing drift spec exhaust question...

i have an 07 TC and was wondering what the ground clearance was for the megan racing drift spec exhaust... at stock ride height... and then also what adjustments are needed to keep the exhaust from rattling/ and from melting the bumper, since it sits at an angle...

Wasn't the angled position specifically placed to prevent bumper tapping and melting?

FYI, unless you're running very rich, and high exhaust outputs due to Forced induction, you should have no worries of "melting" your bumper.

Soulbane is right. At stock ride height you will be fine. Also if you are worried about the melting you bumper, you can go to Pepboys, and ask them about some longer hangers. I think they are like 5 bucks. I am gonna see if I cant find them for you real quick.

    Ok...This is what I found.

Kartboy Exhaust Hangers - Extra Long WRX / STi 02+

They are for WRX's but I am sure that you can get them on our cars. Again, go talk to some auto department store, and they should be able to help.

thanks for the imput, but i was looking for the ACTUAL clearance... seeing i will be lowering the car in the future, i would like to know how low i could go without the exhaust being an issue... so if anyone has a measurement that would be great....

I have a an easy and inexpensive cure that I cooked up to alleviate all your concerns at the axleback. Just follow the link to our Tech Article section. It works very good in fine adjusting the alignment of your axleback for the tip exit, for clearance, and loose hangers.

    Default melted bumper??

    Hey guys,

This seems like the only proper thread to ask this question... Got an 08 tC and just had Toyota install the HKS Hi-flow for 40 bucks. It is angled a bit to the passenger side which I hear is normal, and tip does not touch bumper on either side. It is fairly close to passenger side but never seems to touch even when shaking as the car is idling. Should I worry about the bumper ever melting from the exhaust heat??? I have only had it on for one day so I am just trying to check before somethin baad happens.

i do not have that exhuast but like they said earlier, it should never get hot enough to burn your bumper, and as long as it is not laying on your bumper you will be fine, any pics or how its sitting?

just get that carbon fiber muffler tip buffer that goes onto your bumper, looks cool and works great from wat I hear. I also hear megan has a regular spec exhaust instead of the drift angled version. I personally think the whole angle thing is pretty lame but hey thats just me ...

are you referring to the only one sold on ebay?? Yeah, it looks pretty descent. I'm wondering how it is installed on the bumper. Also, I don't really want to add a heat shield for the exhaust if I can avoid it.

It soundz pretty good, really nice between 2-4k... also is very quiet at idle which is something I like. Also, seems to be getting louder and deeper as time goes on ( veery nice)

Looks good. I have the same can and mine is within 1/8" of the bumper and no melting. It will only happen if it touches it constantly.

Beware of Megan Racing's exhaust products. They have problems in their design and are just plated (not true stainless). It will rust up and get ugly on you in a couple of months.
