IMO, its a combination of all the parts, but it really boils down to the mufler: the size and how its packed w/fiberglass (or whatever the hell they pack it with).

I solved the problem on my old cars by adding in a resonator/pre-muffler, but I'm sure you can use something simple and inexpensive like a cherry bomb type muffler. All you have to do is weld it somewhere between the cat and muffler. Make sure its a straight through design though. So if you like your exhaust, just do that. It'll bring the tone down low and won't get really loud till you really open it up.

Cost-wise, the part shouldn't be more than $50-80, and a muffler shop could weld it in for you for about $40 or so.

    That's your best bet.

yea any header you put on is gonna create rasp. only part that sucks bout the tc is the rasp .....but use some cherry bombs (2) to lower it, you can line them up right after the S pip. Then just get a nice axel back and you'l have pretty much no rasp. You can go on youtube and look up tc videos to get a good idea..
