    Default Trans question

hey guys I been wanting to get a new tC ever since my other one was wrecked

but back to the main topic if I get at auto again I was wondering that if there were any upgrades I could do to make it faster?

or would it just be easier to get a manual?

autos will NEVER be as fast as a manual can be...

it all depends on the upgrades and the driver

very true but i think im going to stick with the auto because i just like to have a good time driving im not really into the whole street racing scene even though i like to add a little more power to the car but i like to cruise around mainly lol

and i thought you could add something to the auto that makes it more agressive or something like that

Have you ever driven the manual? If not, go test drive one now. Even bone stock, a side by side comparison with an auto is like night and day in everyday performance. If being a gear grinder is not your thing (I used to be one), then stick with the juice box. No one will wrong you for wanting a comfortable drive. Just be forewarned that you have off-the-shelf performance options and any custom mods will cost you plenty. My Son wanted his juice box and was mad that I forced an organ grinder on him. He quickly recanted those complaints when he drove a friend's juice box. Dad vindicated. Go Team Venture!

yes i have driven a standard before and i do like to speed sometimes but driving my 05 g35S is alot of fun i would just like an auto for a change of things because i dont always like changing gears constantly and i use FM1960 which is in houston texas and there are to many lights to go through with suicide drivers lol even though i would like to make the tC to at least 280WHP with a s/c but that will be a long goal

and one last thing are torque converters any good for the auto one of my buddies told me about them but i havent had the time to research on exactly what they do

Trust me. Go with a manual. As far as the torque converter...every automatic in the world has one. A torque converter is a modified form of fluid coupling that is used to transfer rotating power from a prime mover, such as an internal combustion, to a rotating driven load. Like a basic fluid coupling, the torque converter normally takes the place of a mechanical clutch, allowing the load to be separated from the power source.

i bought a auto and the only drawback is the hesitation for town driving nice and smooth.stick is maybe a little faster but a little harder on the drivetrain and a pain in the butt in town driving.

I have found the manual on the tC to be very forgiving for stop and go driving as compared to other cars that will just wear you out. You can alleviate this further by altering your driving style. When in stop and go traffic, don't be quick to move when the car in frotn of you begins to move. You're in traffic and it is a safe bet that the vehicle in front of you will soon come to an abrupt stop. Instead, try waiting till the gap between the two of you is more than a car length. Just be patient. Romping on the gas and dropping the clutch, only to move a few feet, is no going to make the drive any quicker. If the vehicle gap is large enough and the traffic continues to squeek along, then you can leave itin gear and drive just above a stall out. Trying this in 2nd will not work because of the gearing.

That's what I do in Baltimore traffic! You have to crawl in first. Just be VERY careful about your throttle inputs. Now, where's the smiley for the bucking bronco? lol

The tC stock is fun to drive (stick), but with a few simple mods, it's a blast. Plus, the tC has killer looks that all the Honda guys wish they had. MPG is fairly good but I would not say phenominal.

But why? Having a manual with other people in the house that can't drive one is kind of like a security system lol. That's the way I look at it.
