    Default Aerodynamics???

Would placing a front wind splitter be beneficial on our cars? Would front canards be better? Would using both be over kill? Will using either one of these hurt mpg? If these are dumb questions I'm sorry. I don't know much about the aerodynamics portion of tuning. Thank you in advance.

This question could be asked about any car. I think you should be more concerned about speed bumps and other obstacles rather then thinking about aerodynamic advantages of splitters and other such items.

Unless you are racing at triple digit speeds, you most likely won't see any advantage to body kits and / or wings. These items are added to cars mainly for looks... not function. I also don't think it should affect your mpg.

    Best of luck,

So true. There is a local "do-it-all" shop here in New Orleans. The owner has a bad-arse Honda that had a kit on it. Looked sharp for about a month. New Orleans is notorious for murder and bad roads. He since has put a new front clip on and repainted the entire vehicle.

The wind splitter will provide a limited means downforce and, more importantly, equalization of airflow under the car to prevent lift. It should not cause any sufficient amount of drag. It is susceptible to damage. On the other hand, canards provide large amounts of downforce but also create proportional amounts of drag, thusly, affecting MPG.
