    Default Performance!!

so k, i went with the great mistake of axle back exhaust, all i could afford!! And now i own the TRD CAI, and happy with it. now for exhaust work what can i do that wont make it sound like a damn weed wacker? i would like too use my hks axle back if still possible?? I need too pass emissions still in wisconsin so dont wanna ruin that. does anyone have a pic of the stock exhaust layout on the tc? i would still like too keep the low rumble sound, and avoid high pitch sounds!!

Please read the 2 stickied conversations in this Section that already go into great detail on this topic. I take it that you like the current sound of your axle-back? If so, you can get an Invidia or custom made s-pipe. Changing the header will always result in ugly sounds at some part of the RPM spectrum if you don't upsize the resonator. The secondary cat can be replaced with a high-flow metal unit. Any increase in exhaust flow has a resulting increase in sound level. Raspy sound comes from unchecked resonances in the exhaust.

That's why I will be sticking with the stock headers. My goal one day is to cut out the secondary cat, put a glasspack behing the resonator, and go with a muffler. Not sure what kind though yet.
