Default Piece by Piece Performance: newb

I have a 2008 stock tC automatic. I had wanted to buy the s/c, but that might be problematic at this point* at least from TRC's pov. Anywho, I don't have much money and am not a BIG DIY'fer, but certainly some things must be easier to install than others, like perhaps the sway bar. My question is, in what order would you suggest someone like me buy upgraded performance upgrades to gain HP and not void warranties. Also, give me an idea of what the difficulty level is of what you are suggesting. Thanks.

*plus the installation costs could be very high.

An intake is usually the first upgrade. Not difficult, relatively cheap, and shouldn't cause any problems with the warranty.

Unless you f up the installation lol.

If you are really worried about warranty stuff, then buy TRD parts and have the dealership install them. It is a little more expensive, but Toyota backs up their products when installed by Toyota techs.

But in the end, Redneck is right. I/H/E would be your standard performance upgrades for N/A motors. They are also the easiest and most affordable imo.

As a small piece of advice, try to avoid modding on a tight budget. You are only going to get yourself in trouble... Also, if it sounds too good to be true (like the ebay items that claim "+100hp and 75mpg for $50") then it probably is.

I say start small and work your way up. You can start with changing the shift nob, and end with installing a meth kit.
